Snakebite

80' Rock - GIESSEN

SNAKEBITE stands for authentic and timeless Hard Rock music, as this is what the charismatic guys truly believe in: no masquerade – no fake shit – no compromise!

The Hard Rock act SNAKEBITE was founded in late 2012 and consists of singer and guitarist Dominik „Nikki“ Wagner (Ex-Sexx Action), drummer Julian Fischer (Double Crush Syndrome), bassist Alex LaCroix (Ex-Sexx Action, Ex-Incubite) and guitarist Martin Gerloff (Horrizon).

SNAKEBITE stands for authentic and timeless Hard Rock music, as this is what the charismatic guys truly believe in: no masquerade – no fake shit – no compromise! With a clear distance to comedy acts like Steel Panther and the current Sleazerock-wave the four guys are bound to the music of the 70s and 80s, a time, when Hardrock was predominant, but with no concessions to the outselling mainstream. Powerful riffs, rapid breaks/solos, combined with catchy melodies in straight compositions. Apart from the used sex, drugs and Rock ’n‘ Roll cliché, the boys represent a positive attitude and make a stand against standardized and slavish lifestyles. Songs like „Live it Up“, „Road to Nowhere“ and „Draw the Line“ deal with the adventure of living the own life: Independence, freedom, defiance.

Shortly after the formation, the original members Nikki, Julian and Alex recorded an album based on Sexx Action songs, but unfortunately, it was never released due to disagreements with a former Sexx Action member. However, SNAKEBITE composed new songs and released a limited demo EP via Maniac Attack Records, which was sold out quickly. Together with Neill Freiwald (Stahlmann, Incubite) the band toured throughout Germany and proved their endurance, solid performance and engaging stage presence. SNAKEBITE always gives 100% – on big stages as well as in small bars.

Encouraged by enthusiastic feedback, SNAKEBITE entered the studio to record the debut album “PRINCESS OF PAIN”. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Dennis Koehne (Sodom, Lacuna Coil, etc.) and Tom Kornis, whose powerful production ignores the sterility of recent engineering standards. Involving all band members in the songwriting process, SNAKEBITE offer a great variety of songs without drifting away from their typical sound. The album was released on March 2015 as CD, LP and download via Maniac Attack Records. The band celebrated the release at the infamous Partymonium in Cologne.

In late 2015 Chris van Kough joined the band as second guitar player.

Beside promoting their debut and being on the road constantly SNAKEBITE is working on a first music video and already writes material for the second longplayer. With good songs, pureness and a will of iron SNAKEBITE wants to prove themselves to real fans of music, way beyond the german hardrock scene.
